What was the problem?

Lansing and its residents have so much to be proud of about their city, but there is confusion about where some neighborhoods begin and others end. Along with Lansing's city government, we set out to create a tool to help citizens be in charge of crafting the identities of their spaces in the city they love.

Process

We sat down with city employees and residents to empathetically understand their experience of the problem. We listened actively, took notes, and distilled what we heard to guide our thinking. We communicated concepts with sketches to get feedback and iterate quickly.

We created prototype interactions to show how users could tell & listen to stories

Or connect with events going on in their neighborhoods and beyond

Demonstration

We brought our prototype to Lansing's city hall to share our vision and invite people to share back their ideas on the matter. We demonstrated the story telling function in a low fidelity manner to let people experience it firsthand.

Delivery

Iteration ensued and we finally delivered the city all of the concepts and prototypes we created along with a plan for implementation.
